Portrait of Mason Maslonka, Pre-Licensed Professional at Parkview Counseling

Relatable, faith-informed therapist for young adults and adults navigating addiction, anxiety, and life transitions. Accepting new clients in January.

I'm not the man I once was. I grew up on the other side of the counseling room, and over time, therapy helped me better understand myself, make sense of what I was experiencing, and develop a healthier perspective on myself and the world around me. What I gained through counseling didn't end when those sessions did; it continues to shape the way I approach life today. That experience is a significant part of why I chose to become a counselor myself. I also believe there is a real need for male therapists who are faith-informed and able to connect with clients in a genuine, relatable way. I enjoy working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and life stages, with a particular passion for working with men. I take an integrative approach to therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic approaches. I appreciate CBT for its practical way of understanding how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another and identifying patterns that may be keeping us stuck. I use ACT to help clients make room for difficult thoughts and emotions while continuing to move toward what matters most to them. And I value psychodynamic theory for exploring how a client's experiences and history may continue to shape the way they understand themselves, their relationships, and the world around them. I am passionate about helping clients navigate addiction, anxiety, and seasons of life where they may feel stuck, uncertain, or unsure of what comes next. I aim to help clients better understand what they are experiencing, develop practical ways to work through challenges, and make meaningful changes in their lives. After graduating, Mason will work under the clinical supervision of Rich Maier, MA, LPC.
