The Heart of Parkview

Rich Maier
Practice Director, Parkview Counseling
To anyone considering Parkview,
My early life was deeply affected by addiction and mental health struggles around me. Like many, my escape was the military. My time in the U.S. Army gave me structure, purpose, and a deep respect for quiet competence, but it didn’t give me the tools to process what I’d been carrying. That came later, through using many of the tools I share today and a better relationship with God.
I became a counselor because I know what it’s like to need one. Before clinical work, I spent years as an accountant, and that background taught me a lot about building something with integrity and attention to detail. I brought that same standard to Parkview.
I believe healing looks different for everyone. For some people it’s about shifting how they think. For others it’s more relational, experiential, or spiritual. We try to meet every person where they are. Whether you’re here looking for a therapist or you’re a clinician exploring a partnership, I hope Parkview feels like what I intended it to be: a place of honesty, genuine care, and meaningful change.
Warm regards,
Rich Maier

Core Values
Parkview Counseling is built on a commitment to our guiding principles.
Respect
Honoring each client's unique story, dignity, and pace of growth with unwavering professionalism and confidentiality.
Autonomy
Empowering individuals to lead their own journey, fostering self-directed change rooted in personal insight and choice.
Gentleness
Offering compassionate, non-judgmental guidance that prioritizes emotional safety and steady progress.
Change Through Insight
Grounded in evidence-based belief-focused therapy (CBT principles), we facilitate profound shifts by illuminating perspectives that unlock lasting freedom.
Holistic Well-Being
Addressing mental clarity, emotional resilience, physical vitality, and spiritual depth as interconnected elements of human flourishing.
Professional Expertise
Drawing from advanced clinical training, specialized experience in anxiety, depression, addictions, relationship/parental stressors, and trauma-informed care.
Faith-Informed Care
We know that faith-honoring counseling is important to many clients. Parkview offers counseling from the Christian perspective when requested.
Counseling from the Christian worldview does not replace evidence-based psychological treatments. Instead, it integrates sound clinical methods (like CBT, Experiential Therapy, etc.) with spiritual principles in an ethically responsible way to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Our practice is welcoming to all people, regardless of where they are on their faith journey, whichever faith they possess — or hold no faith at all.
